Story Elements Layered Look Book Foldable®

The purpose of this Foldable® is to engage students in an activity that will enhance their understanding of story structure and story elements. After the teacher models the process of completing sections of the Story Elements Layered Look Book Foldable® using the Story Elements Layered Look Book Guide, students complete the sections in a Layered Look Book for a Nutmeg book in small groups, in literature circle groups or independently. Completing the Story Elements Layered Look Book Foldable® in small groups helps stimulates deep discussion and requires students to use evidence to support their inferences, conclusions and opinions. The completed Story Elements Layered Look Books then provides a starting point for the class to compare and contrast the Nutmeg books.
