Spice it Up a Notch with Nutmeg!

Nutmeg Book Award Persuasive
Product or Performance Criteria

Your final persuasive product or performance needs to:

  • Include the key elements of the story, which clearly describes the setting, presents a description and clear opinion about the characters, and provides information about the plot without giving away the ending.
  • Include a position statement, where your personal response, or critical stance, is supported with relevant and important information from the text such as evidence from your own life, other texts, and/or world events.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of potential readers (your audience), and use the type of vocabulary, visuals and arguments that will appeal and connect to that audience.
  • Follow all the rules of spelling, grammar and punctuation.

If your product or performance uses graphics, sound, and/or animation or movement, these multimedia need to support and clarify the key points.
